The senator representing Borno south,Ali Ndume has gone ahead to release a document on Tuesday containing his nine point agenda despite resolution from the leadership of the All progressive congress(APC).
In the document,Senator Ndume promised to make the office of the senate president less attractive by slashing unnecessary rights attached to it.
The former senate leader disclosed that he will ensure priority is given to the passage of the constituency development bill to make “constituency projects more transparent, accountable, efficient and effective”.
He also expressed his readiness to work accordingly and inter-dependently with the executive without weakening the principle of separation of powers.
“We will make laws that will block leakages and planned improved means of generating revenue, especially through the amendment and review of our tax laws which will help to reduce dependency on local and foreign loans to finance budget,” Ndume said.
The lawmaker stressed that “we will run the 9th Senate transparently, through open accountability with full participation of all senators.”
